6 Signs Your House May Need Rewiring
We tend to take it for granted that a constantly flow of electricity feeds our lighting, warmth, TV and mobile devices day and night. Of course we do! The network of cables which provide that electricity is hidden behind switches and sockets. So how do we know if there’s a problem when we can’t actually see how our homes are wired?
In this blog we’re going to look at 6 signs that your house may need rewiring. If you experience any of these, we would recommend calling out your local electrician to check your electrical installation sooner rather than later. When it comes to your home electrics it’s definitely a case of ‘better safe than sorry’.
Local Electrical Contractor in West Bromwich
Just 5 miles outside Birmingham city centre, West Bromwich nevertheless feels like it’s a town with it’s own distinct identity. But that may have something to do with it being the home of West Bromwich Albion, the fortunes of which have always had a huge impact on the town. When they’re playing well, and winning cups, the town booms.
Like all the Black Country towns around it, West Bromwich started out as a village and grew rapidly thanks to its coal. Now it’s known for its football, its great market, and its shopping. This is a town that’s kicked back against the Merry Hill competition, and regenerated its town centre, and its local community.
For centuries Wolverhampton made its money from the wool trade. Then came the Industrial Revolution and like all the towns and cities in the Midlands it became a global producer of coal and steel. For many Midland towns, the industrial bonanza is a thing of the past, but Wolverhampton has managed to maintain its engineering industry, as well as developing expertise in the aerospace sector.
Wolverhampton is a thriving 21st century city that’s proud of its industrial history – it regularly hosts a Black Country Festival celebrating the region! Contract Labour Solutions electrical engineers are always delighted to have the opportunity to visit our commercial and domestic clients across this diverse, adaptable city.
Looking for Birmingham Electricians?
When was the moment we decided to set up Contract Labour Solutions in our home city of Birmingham? There isn’t one simple answer to that, but we all agree that working on the iconic Library of Birmingham in 2013 was a pivotal moment for us. We’d witnessed the gradual transformation of Birmingham city centre over the years, but being a part of it was a tremendous buzz – it made us proud to be Brummies!
Since then, we’ve continued to be part of the reshaping of the city. Contract Labour Solutions provided the electrical installation for the new HSBC headquarters on Bridge Street. And just this year we completed the electrical installation for another iconic building; this time it was Project Apple, also part of the Arena Central development on Bridge Street.
Looking for Electrical Contractors in Walsall?
It’s thought that the name ‘Walsall’ derives from ‘Walh Halh’ which means ‘valley of the Welsh speakers’. The town sits resolutely in the West Midlands, though, 55 miles east of the Welsh border and just 8 miles from Birmingham city centre. Walsall is one of the towns forged by the Industrial Revolution, which is when it became a global leader in the production of leather goods. Now, its proximity to the M6 has transformed it from a producer to a distributor of goods.
Contract Labour Solutions electrical engineers are regular visitors to the town – in fact, we remember visiting the famous illuminations at the Arboretum as kids. Now, though, our role is to install, maintain and repair electrics, rather than wonder at them! And we’ve never yet met anyone speaking Welsh in Walsall…
Case Study – Electrical Installation for Harrow-on-the-Hill Primark
As an electrical contractor in Birmingham many of our commercial electrical installations are located in the West Midlands. We also work across the UK, however, and the installation for Primark in Harrow-on-the-Hill is a case in point. This project was completed on behalf of our client, ECO-1.
How to Choose an Electrician
Choosing an electrician isn’t the same as choosing a decorator, or even a plumber for the simple reason that any mistakes they make could be fatal for you, your employees, or your family. It sounds dramatic, but the stakes are high when you take on an electrician to rewire your home, or provide electrical installation. Ask any electrician and they’ll have a few horror stories about the ‘botch jobs’ they’ve encountered in their time.
Knowing how to choose an electrician could save you money in the long run, and – potentially – save lives. It requires a bit of research along the way, but if the result is you find an electrician you can trust with all your commercial or domestic electrical services, it will certainly have been worth the time and effort.
Electrical Installation Completed on Project Apple, Birmingham
A few months ago we announced that we were starting work on an electrical installation as part of ‘Project Apple’ in Birmingham. We’ve now successfully completed installation on 6 of the 12 floors of a new office block in the Arena Central development.
Contract Labour Services Offers Cable Jointing Services
At Contract Labour Solutions we take pride in the breadth of experience we bring to our work with commercial and industrial clients. This is due to the fact that all our contractors have worked in a variety of environments, including large scale installations in Birmingham, such as Project Apple, the HSBC Headquarters, or Resorts World.
The range of specialist skills we offer means that we’re able to provide our Birmingham clients with comprehensive electrical services, from the initial process of scoping a project, through design and installation, to maintenance.
Looking for Electrical Contractors in Solihull?
Solihull may feel like a semi-rural suburb of Birmingham, but if that were truly the case, it’s punching well above its weight. It would be more accurate to describe the town as an economic success story that’s retained its historic core. At the heart of Solihull is its varied, busy High Street, but behind the scenes there are some industrial and corporate giants driving local business growth.
Jaguar and Land Rover is located in Solihull, as is the entertainment complex, Resorts World, and the largest collection of British motorcycles in the world, at the National Motorcycle Museum. Oh, and we haven’t even mentioned Birmingham Airport, used by thousands of travellers each year. No wonder this is one of the most affluent areas of Birmingham, or that it’s such a popular place to live.
